I Recently Moved to Another State. How Do I Change the License Plate, Title, and Registration on my Toyota Lease?

When moving to another state with a leased vehicle, state law may require you to re-register the vehicle in the new state, and that you re-title the vehicle. The specific requirements can vary from state to state, so please contact your state or county DMV, and let them know that you have a leased vehicle. It is your responsibility to comply with state law.

Toyota Motor Credit Corporation (TMCC) or Toyota Lease Trust (TLT) must be listed as the legal owner or lessor on all title and registration documentation, and you remain responsible for all associated fees and expenses with the associated paperwork.

If you’re moving to a state that requires you to re-title the vehicle:

To request a limited Power of Attorney and to have any original title documentation sent to your new DMV, simply submit a request through our Support Center and let us know what you need. Most documents of this nature must be notarized, in which case they will be mailed to you.

To submit a request, log in to the support center and create a new Title/Registration Request by clicking here.

Then, select State Transfer, and include any additional information we’ll need to ensure you have all the documents required to complete the paperwork.
